TIFT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ACTIVITY REPORT JULY 2018

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough Gene Scarbrough reported July 2018 activity as follows:

Deputies conducted 1,731 business and property checks, 635 mobile home park and subdivision checks and answered 3,130 calls for service.

Deputies served 150 warrants, 76 civil papers and 397 subpoenas.

The sheriff said that deputies arrested 92 people, some on multiple charges. He said that 42 charges of parole / probation violation were filed, 24 charges of crimes against persons, 19 charges of fraud, 13 property crime charges, 9 drug violation charges, 6 for obstruction of officers, 5 child support violations and 10 other non-traffic charges.

Scarbrough said that traffic stops lead to the filing of 68 charges of driving with suspended or revoked license, 10 charges of driving under the influence and four drug charges.

Deputies completed 577 incident reports, 25 accident reports, issued 957 traffic citations, 169 traffic warnings, and patrolled 65,175 miles and verified the home addresses of 60 registered sex offenders living in Tift County.

Sheriff Scarbrough said that deputies handled 70 transports that took 240 hours and totaled 7,905 miles.
