A return to a more active weather pattern is expected today with an increase in showers and thunderstorms. Several clusters of thunderstorms are possible today, moving across the tri-state region from northwest to southeast. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather today. The primary risk with these clusters of storms will be isolated damaging winds. The most likely time frame for the strongest storms will be from midday through early evening. However, scattered storms will be possible throughout the day.

With a very moist air mass in place and the potential for several complexes of thunderstorms from this morning through tonight, there is some potential for isolated Flash Flooding, especially in normally flood prone areas.
